Roger is a longtime member, soloist, and arranger for Twin Cities brass groups, rhythm and blues bands, and concert bands. He played trumpet for the University of Minnesota's top wind ensemble, as well as other bands there. He has played trumpet, trombone, and baritone for many other groups over the years. He is a recent inductee into both the Buglers Hall of Fame and the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame. In addition to the Capital City Wind Ensemble, Roger also helps lead Classic Brass Inc., a local brass quintet he helped found with friends from Minnesota Brass Inc. You can enjoy dancing with his band Emerson Avenue.

Mary Livingston, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, retired

Mary Livingston is a life-long musician. She has a B.A. in Music Education from Macalester College. She plays many instruments, including piano, accordion, harmonica, folk harp, euphonium and tuba.

After a 35-year career as a Recreation Director with the City of Saint Paul - providing recreation activities for people with disabilities and senior citizens - Mary is now focusing on her second career as a musician.

As a Certified Music Practitioner™, Mary uses keyboard, accordion, harmonica, harp and/or her voice to create a healing environment through music. In addition to therapeutic playing, Mary is a 'music recreationist' leading sing-alongs and glee clubs in a variety of settings.

She also directs several ensembles: North Presbyterian Sanctuary Choir in North St. Paul, The Choralettes Women's Choir in South St. Paul, The Golden Melody Makers Senior Citizen Chorus in St. Paul, The Village Shores Senior Residence Choir in Richfield and is Co-director of the Capital City Wind Ensemble in St. Paul.
